Evgeny Kissin donates his genius, and his heart, to SACH

May 28, 2015

Evgeny Kissin, widely known as one of the greatest living pianists, gave an outstanding performance at the Geneva Academy of Music dedicated to  Save a Child’s Heart. The sold-out concert saw the enraptured audience of international guests and an array of dignitaries give a standing ovation after each piece performed.

The concert was followed by a champagne reception and dinner with the artist in the majestic rooms of Geneva‘s Opera House.

Professor Rene Pretre, Switzerland‘s legendary cardio-vascular surgeon and former ”Swiss of the Year”, was event patron. He spoke at the dinner about humanitarian life-saving heart surgery, which his own foundation supports.  SACH President Professor Arie Schachner gave a moving and witty description of the remarkable work  carried out by Israel‘s largest international humanitarian organization and presented Mr Kissin with a gold SACH  medal, SACH’s highest award.

Christie‘s auction house generously contributed to the event by managing the auction with magnificent prizes donated by famous sculptor Yves Dana, Switzerland‘s prestigious watch manufacturer Raymond Weil, ZEP renowned cartoonist, trendy artists Yarisal & Kublitz, and L. Raphael worldwide luxury spas.

We thank the many donors, as well as all the organizations and individuals who covered event costs enabling all proceeds to go directly towards saving children’s lives. We also give a special thank you to Hannah Shabtai and SACH Switzerland’s concert committee of volunteers for organizing this amazing event.
