Baraa was diagnosed with multiple congenital heart defects in infancy due to congestive heart failure, and was first treated at Wolfson Medical Center in 2013 when he was six months old. During a follow up evaluation at the Save a Child’s Heart Tuesday clinic for Palestinian children in June 2017, Baraa was admitted emergently when the SACH medical team determined that his pacemaker was not functioning properly and needed to be replaced. Throughout his entire stay at Wolfson Medical Center from the beginning of the clinic to discharge, he was very interested in the medical supplies and the medical team caring for him. He would wave to everyone that passed him in the hallway. Baraa was dischared and then admitted again one week later for an infection in his surgical site. Baraa will be continued by the SACH medical team and the Wolfson Medical Center Pacemaker clinic.
